COURSE AIM -
The Intermediate Construction Award (ICA) is the NVQ Level 2 underpinning knowledge training.
The course fully prepares you for your NVQ2 in Wall & Floor Tiling, to Construction Skills standards.
Construction Skills are the Government Body for Construction in the UK. It covers every aspect of
Tiling at the relevant level, and is designed for potential Domestic and Commercial Tilers.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

This course is designed for complete beginners, no experience
is required.
COURSE CONTENT -
Units you must complete to achieve this award are as follows:..

Store Materials and Equipment

ICA 101 Erect and Dismantle Basic Working Platforms
- ICA 102
Work Efficiently
- ICA 146 Set Out for Tiling (Wall and Floor)
- ICA 147 Prepare Backgrounds for Tiling (Wall and Floor)
- ICA 148 Position and Fix Tiles (Wall and Floor)
- ICA 149 Repair Tiling (Wall and Floor Tiling)
Health and Safety test and Gola test (job knowledge) are also
included within this course
TRAINING METHOD -
Six week
practical tuition, with theory lessons taking place on a Friday morning. Some distance
learning may be involved.
COURSE DURATION -
30 days practical plus additional theory as distance learning.
Mon - Thur 8.30am - 4.30pm
Fir - 9.00am - 12.30pm
OUTCOME -
Fully prepares you for your NVQ2
in wall and floor tiling.
Once five work based evidence jobs are complete then assessment for NVQ2 can be
completed.
Your CSCS Health and safety test is included with this course, enabling you to become a CSCS card holder immediately, once registered for an NVQ.
