This entry level course provides a solid foundation on which you can build your tiling career.

From this course you wll recieve two units of accreditation (unit 018 and 021) towards the City and Guilds 6217-01 full award.

Following this qualfication you can

• progress on to complete further units towards the 6217-01 award
• start your own business
• gather some experience and evidence twards your NVQ Level 2

This course is designed for complete beginners, no experience required.

• Learning about tools
• Background Preperation
• Measuring and marking out
• Learning about adhesives
• How to apply adhesives correctly
• How to fix wall tiles correctly
• Using spacer pegs
• How to fix floor tiles correctly
• How to mix grout and applying it
• All health and saftey issues covered throughout
• Costing and quoting
• Learning how to fix different tools for transferring datum lines and levels
• Setting out and tiling around windows, reveals including using tile trim
• Learning about features and how to set out
• Learning different methods of how to cut tiles around objects i.e round/ curved/ square
• Tile different designs such as diamond and brick bond
• Starting your own business

This course is mainly practical work, with theory lessons taken on a Friday morning.
