Hi all just finished the 6 week tiling course with those blaggards
at ‘ChaseTilingAcademy’ had a great time and gained all the necessary skills to change career after 24 years in the Civil Service. Never done anything like this prior to the course.
Learned loads and found the course to be of high quality and value for money.
Just a short thank you to all the staff there and a quick praise regarding for their friendly and professional approach during the course.
Always got an answer to any questions in a friendly, helpful and often highly humours way !
Got 6 domestic jobs lined up already and the usual family ‘can you’ demands so looking good.
To Phil especially many thanks chap. I expect you to win that Gold in the Olympic shooting and will be putting a £100 on you so you better win or I will nick your grout!
I Intend doing the 2 week plumbing course again at ‘ChaseTilingAcademy’ with Anthony in early July 2008.
To those of you who may be worried as I was about joining or doing this course hand on heart I can honestly say it’s the best thing I have done for many years.
Give it a go !

I have recently completed the ICA tiling course at Chase after deciding on a career
change. I only had DIY experience of tiling and did a lot of research to choose
who to use. One course provider had never even heard of the ICA! I chose Chase because
of its good reviews and their friendly and helpful attitude over the telephone even
though it meant 120 miles a day in my car. I did not waste my money and found the
course excellent. The staff are very knowledgeable and very helpful. The first two
weeks of the ICA course ran along side their two week course and during that time
Phil and Anthony had taught me enough to feel confident enough to start out in tiling.
So I can also say the two week course is excellent. Because I was from outside the
building trade I had chosen to do the ICA course and during the additional four
weeks they continued to expand my knowledge and also covered other skills like plastering
that I felt would be useful to me if I was going to do it full time. I also wanted
my NVQ and by doing the ICA course I should be able to get it a lot quicker than
the three years it would take if I just went out and started tiling. I would say
don’t worry if you have never tiled and might not be able to keep up because the
course is spread over enough time for them to cover each unit that has been set
by the ICA and if you are a quick learner they are always about to answer all of
your “what if” questioned in any downtime. Thanks to chase I have the confidence
to go into anyone house knowing that I can do a good job to the correct standards.
My only criticism is that we had to take our own biscuits for the free tea and coffee!
Excellent course and highly recommended.

I have just finished a 6 week
ICA
course at
Chase Tiling Academy
. I was very pleased with the training provided Phil and Anthony the two tutors
are highly trained in wall and floor tiling and provided first class training .
I would highly recommend
Chase
Tiling
Academy
to anyone considering taking up wall and floor tiling as a profession the 6 week
ICA
course is ideal if you have no experience and want to go on to achieve an NVQ 2
which I will be doing soon. I even had an interview with the internal verifier during
my course who said the portfolios constructed for the NOCN and
ICA
awards were of the highest standard. I am glad that I chose Chase tiling Academy
to do my training. I now feel confident to take on my own jobs and to start tiling
full time.
Thanks again Phil, Anthony and Margaret

I have just completed a four week course at cta
Having packed in a management job for a new challenge i was naturally worried especially
having never done any tiling before
but from day 1 phil, ant and margaret were superb and immediately gave everyone
on the course the confidence that we could tile
the course was relaxed but at the same time very informative. i was lucky because
the group of people i was with were top notch, even the old bird (only joking carol)
i have set up on my own and have already done 2 paid jobs with loads of quotes to
do
if anyone fancies a change of career or just wants to learn how to tile then this
course is superb
the kettle is always on but mrs smith and the site manager are a pain in the backside
If you are reading this Phil, ant and margaret keep up the great work
a satisfied customer

Hi Margaret, Philip and Anthony,
Just wanted to say thanks very much for all your help over the past four weeks,
I never expected to gain so much knowledge about tiling in such a short time. Your
attention to detail coupled with the time spent with each student was superb. I
think everybody on the course would agree that whilst we learnt a great deal we
also had time for a good laugh.
Kind regards and best wishes in your new unit,
Ken Negus
PS See you soon on the Bathroom Course

Dear Margaret and Phil,
Just a note to say thank you very much for the hospitality during my 4 week training
course at your training academy, I have learnt so much from the course and thoroughly
enjoyed it. Phil is such a good training instructor that I couldn’t wish for anyone
better as we have had some good laughs during the time at the academy, rather than
being in a serious environment it made me so at ease, especially being a woman in
a male environment. Also the group that were on the course were great, I could not
of wished to be with a better bunch of men, very helpful as we all worked as a team.
Well worth coming down from the north of
Scotland
, can’t wait for the plumbing course. I wish you every success in your new venture
good luck for the future and look forward to seeing you soon.
Love Carol Scollay

Hi just completed a two week course at Chase and would recommend it to anyone thinking
of tiling. Phil and Ant the two instructors are top notch and def know their stuff.
The course was very hands on from the start and by the end of the first day I had
tiled my first wall. After two weeks I feel I have gained confidence to go out and
do a bit myself.

I recently finished the 2 week course with Chase Tiling
Acadeamy Ltd, previous to this i hadnt ever tried tiling or any manual work for
that matter, as i was in sales. but within the two weeks it taught me the necessary
skills to get started. Obviously with any training course it is much different to
when you go out and Tile for your customers in the real world but still gave me
the ability & confidence to get started on my business. I have been self employed
now for about a month, i have been getting most of my work through a bathroom installer
friend i have, i have came across obstacles with every job i have had, but have
always got around them with the skills i have been taught, I'm still learning all
the time. to anyone thinking of a career change, Chase is an excellent choice, good
facilities, good tuition. five stars from me, Andrew Bilton A - B Tiling

I was on the 4 week course, at chase tiling academy
a while back. Phil is a superb instructor, with many years experience tiling behind
him. If you are thinking of learning tiling then I can highly recommend doing your
training there. You will learn all you need to know to be a tiler & more besides.
Phil & Margaret make you feel very welcome from the start, the atmosphere is
very relaxed & friendly. The facilities & tools are first rate, parking
right outside the door, & if you don't fancy sandwiches, there is a cafe up
the corridor. While I was on the course, you would often see past students popping
in for a cuppa, & a chat with Phil & Margaret. If you are doing a job and
unsure about something, you can ring Phil for advice, and he will put you right.
If you're thinking about tiling, arrange a visit, look around, have a chat &
ask the students what they think. To Phil & Margaret, a big thank you Tony. |

Marg, Phil and Ant,
Just a quick letter to say how much I enjoyed the four week tiling course, it was
exactly what I needed. I felt very apprehensive coming from a management background
into tiling, however all three of you helped allay those fears and from the moment
I walked through the door I knew I’d made the right choice.
As you guys know, I’ve now set up my own tiling business, “The Tile Crew” and I
can honestly say that without your expertise I would not be as comfortable quoting
potential customers and delivering the quality of service I now deliver.
For anyone looking to pursue a career in tiling, then I have to say without doubt
Chase Tiling Academy
is by far the best training facility I came across and very good value for money.
If you need me as a personal testimony to any “would be” students, then please by
all means ask them to give me a call.
All the very best,
Faron

Hi Margaret and Phil,
Just thought I’d say quick thanks for the professional
manner in which the course was structured, really enjoyed my time with you at Chase
Tiling (well worth the travel from
South Wales
!!). Since completing the course, I’ve already started a conservatory floor (bond
pattern), booked in for a kitchen floor and wall, plus removed and re-tiled a shower
unit.
Regards,
Andrew Thomas

I did my tiling course here some time ago. I did the 4 week course and it covers
everything from operating the Rubi cutter to creating wall and floor images with
tiles, to area preparation to what adhesives and grouts to use. Just thinking about
the work I have had since, everything I learnt I have used to tackle the most complicated
jobs with ease.
Everything was explained and demonstrated carefully and all questions answered professionally.
Phil (the course tutor) is vastly experienced in nothing but tiling, so you know
you are getting the right instruction and advice. I have been to other construction
training centres in the Midlands (for basic brickwork and plastering courses – well
worth doing to help you out of sticky situations on the tiling),
and the ‘tiling’ courses they offer are obviously for the DIY’er,
as the course content was very empty.
I met some great people on the course (and we often swap work with each other),
and I often go back to see Phil for a brew whilst swinging the lantern on my achievements.
He always has time for you and still hands out the advice when I need it.
Since doing my course, I got loads of domestic and site work, and I am now looking
to do my NVQ2 through OSAT.
If you’re going to book with Chase Tiling, mention my name to Phil, and watch the
old bugger smirk….. ;o)
.....
Just to update on my progress with OSAT and NVQ2 in the Tile Fixing –
Phil at
Chase Tiling Academy
has recently informed me that the training centre is imminently due to be accredited
by the CITB, therefore being able to offer the Intermediate Construction Award and
On Site Assessment and Training for the more experienced to gain their NVQ.
For me looking
at OSAT, that’s absolutely perfect timing as its on my doorstep. For others looking
for courses, this should be confirmation that the courses run here are 100% bang
on.

Hi everyone,
Just thought I’d drop a quick note about Chase Tiling. I could have posted this
straight after finishing the 4 week course but I thought it would be fairer to post
after my first job. I’ve just finished a 16sq mtr kitchen floor, quarry tiles and
lots of difficult cuts – in fact probably not the ideal job for the first one! I
was apprehensive, wasn’t sure if I’d priced it right, wasn’t sure if I’d taken on
too much – but I needn’t have worried. All the traning I’d received at Chase Tiling
was money really well spent. There wasn’t a problem I encountered that I couldn’t
figure out a way round and all the hints and tips provided by Phil the course tutor
came into their own. All I can say is that if you are looking for a course that
is excellent value for money and run by a guy who can really do the job and not
just talk a good story – look no further than Chase Tiling. Phil, if you’re reading
this thanks a million. The one tip I keep reminding myself of is “don’t stand back
and look at the job thinking how well you’ve done because you could be putting more
tiles on !!!!

I am starting a 4 week course
at Chase next week (30th April) and am really looking forward to it. I went to Chase
a few weeks ago to view the facilities and meet Phil before I booked. I was very
impressed and sent the deposit straight away.
I looked at various other courses before booking but this one seemed to be the best
and offered me exactly what I was looking for. It's also quite a bit cheaper than
some of the other too.
I'll post again when I finish the course to give some more feedback.
Looking forward to getting stuck in!!
Gareth
....
Just a quick update.
I have just finished my second week. I am thoroughly enjoying it and feel like I
am learning a lot. The atmosphere is great and everyone gets on.
Phil is a good laugh and is full of great little tips to make things seem easier.
All in all it couldn't be going better and am glad I choose this course rather than
one closer to home that would have been easier to get to.
I'll update again when I finish.
Gaz
....
I finished my course at
Chase Tiling Academy
just over a week ago.
I really enjoyed my time there and so did the rest of the lads on the course with
me. Phil is a great tutor and can't think of anyone better to learn from, he has
a great attitude towards the students and genuinely wants you to learn as much as
possible!
The facilities were really good and there was access to every tool you could ever
need. Just as we were finishing the course building of three new training booths
had been completed.
Considering I only recently finished my course and have only been advertising in
the local paper a week an a half I have already done 3 estimates and have my first
two jobs booked in!
Anyone look to get into a career tiling should definitely consider this course!
You won't regret it! Give Phil a ring to organise viewing the facilities and you'll
see what I mean!
Thanks a lot Phil and Margaret! I'll be in for a brew at some point in the next
few weeks if that's ok with you!
